Mario's Galactic Adventure Teaser Is Here, Introducing Rosalina and Bowser Jr. Actors
The collaboration between Nintendo and Illumination shared the debut comprehensive teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie this Wednesday. The reveal happened in a dedicated Nintendo presentation that focused exclusively on the upcoming animated film.
The sequel to the 2023 hit film The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this fresh entry will transport Mario to the far corners of the galaxy. In his journey, he meets a different royal figure and a formidable new rival in Bowser Jr., the son of the King of the Koopas.
An Interstellar Journey Inspired by Beloved Titles
Similar to the Wii-era games that serve as its inspiration, Mario will venture away from the cozy environment of the Mushroom Kingdom to explore outer space. During his grand adventure, he will reunite with some recognizable characters, such as the Luma, a breakout star from the first movie.
However, it seems Mario and his sibling Luigi will face a fresh enemy in the form of Bowser's irate young son, who apparently utilizes powers related to metal. Interestingly, the trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not only concentrated on visuals from the Galaxy games; it also contains hints to further iconic releases like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
Star-Studded Voice Cast Come Back and Grow
The film will see the return of the initial voice actors, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
Joining the cast for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will portray Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to embody Bowser Jr. The casting was verified by Chris Meledandri, the chief executive of Illumination.
A Significant Period for Mario
Mario's latest cinematic adventure is scheduled to arrive around the time of the 40-year celebration of the original Super Mario Bros. game. Apart from the cinematic release, 2026 is shaping up to be a important time for Mario and his allies.
The company has three new games officially announced for 2026, featuring Mario Tennis Fever, a Switch 2 edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a latest Yoshi adventure game titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is officially set to be released on April 3, 2026.
