Diving into a Unique Steam Demo: Playing as a Piece of Feces in a Mission to Reach the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is in full swing, and players have encountered numerous interesting indie games. But, one is particularly notable for its offbeat concept. Named Unko Technica, this classic-feel side-scrolling game includes a character that is truly a piece of poop striving to make its way to a toilet. As a fun fact, "Unko" means "poop."

Player controls is straightforward: press a jump control. Throughout one hundred fifty challenges, battle tough enemies and unlock a store to acquire customizations for your poop character.

Time your jumps precisely, as a error means restarting the level. Leap using bubbles to launch your character upward, navigate disappearing platforms, and touch switches to unlock secret routes. Earn coins for buying challenging game content where gameplay ramps up.

Visually, the demo shows off eye-catching stages and an amazing soundtrack. Its minimalist graphics of shifting basic polygons evokes memories of gamers of old favorites like Earthbound.

While it's hard to name other games where you are a coiled turd, video games have long included scatological themes. As an illustration, in Death Stranding, you can craft grenades from character droppings. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved utilize feces as plant food. Naturally, this theme appears a lot in the South Park RPG The Stick of Truth.

Regardless of its humorous premise, Unko Technica has already earned significant awards, like being named best at a major publisher's GYAAR Studio in 2023. A playable preview is available currently on Steam, with the complete version set to launch on computers on November 19.
